Have you ever heard "The fence is the property Line", only to find out the neighbor is now claiming a portion of your yard. Many new home owners believe that their homes/property were surveyed before they ever bought the property. Either by a private Surveyor, the City or County Surveyors.
Most of the time this is not the case. Unless you are in a relatively newer subdivision, there may have never been any surveys conducted of your property. Oregon law does not require that a property to be surveyed, and if you have a property in an older part of town, or out in the country, there might be a strong chance that your corners have never been set.
